Survey shows women update their Facebook status more while in the bathroom than men

According to a survey conducted by AIS media, a social media agency, more women use facebook or update their facebook status while in the bathroom. The objective of the survey was to get a brief insight on the social networking dependencies of the people. The survey was conducted among 500 candidates. Of these candidates, 27% said they update their status while in the bathroom, out of which 54% were women. Most women who belonged to this group were between the ages of 30-49.
The CEO of AIS media Thomas Harpointer said “While it may seem humorous to survey people about their Facebook usage while in the bathroom, the results underscore the proliferation of consumer social media usage and their strong need to stay connected. For businesses and brands, social media offers an opportunity to engage potential customers like never before.”
The advent of smartphones has given us instant access to social networking at our fingertips. This could well be a warning so as to what the future awaits for us. The constant need to let people know what you’re doing is making people highly dependent on these social networking websites. But Facebook’s contribution in bridging the gap between businesses and customers cannot be disregarded.
